Life is a Journey

Life is but a stopping place,

a pause in what's to be,

A resting place along the road,

to sweet eternity.

We all have different journeys,

different paths along the way,

We all were meant to learn some things,

but never meant to stay...

Our destination is a place,

far greater than we know.

For some the journey's quicker,

for some the journey's slow.

And when the journey finally ends,

we'll claim a great reward,

And find an everlasting peace,

together with the Lord.

My Bible and I

We travel together

my Bible and I

Down the trails of rainbow

as the days go by.

I need your sweet friendship

your message of love

Painting the pathway

to the beauties above.

May the light of the spirit

your pages unfold

And daily reveal

your treasures of gold.

Oh white light of promise

to you I'll be true

And your teachings of rainbows

will carry me through.

Never Alone

He can calm the troubled waters

When you walk in deep despair.

There is hope when you feel helpless

Knowing that the Lord is there....

Sharing in your sunshine moments

Or in valleys deep and wide,

He will never, ever leave you --

He is always by your side.

There's no other friend so faithful

Through the sunshine and the rain,

Through the teardrops and the laughter,

In your joy and in your pain.

We could never, ever thank Him

For His Love He gives so free,

Never changing.... never ending

Throughout all eternity.

Oh, the wonder of all wonders

As we live from day to day

Knowing that we have a Father

Who is with us all the way.

My True Hereafter

I am a follower of God,

I go where He leads

because I trust Him

for all of my needs.

I’ve been through the valleys,

He has taken me there

so I could learn to rest

in His loving care.

I’ve climbed the mountains,

reached the highest peak

He gave me His strength

because He knew I was weak.

I’ve weathered the storms,

in peace I was kept

He calmed my fears

through the tears I wept.

Like a child, I’m a follower,

to God’s ways I go after

for I believe His Kingdom . . .

is my true hereafter!

The Best Friend of All

How sweet the sunshine after rain,

And sweet the rest that follows pain,

But sweeter far His face to see,

The Son of God who died for me.

But not until He calls me home,

No, not till then will I behold

The Savior who did die for me,

And bore my sins on Calvary.

He suffered, bled and died alone,

Alone, alone for you and me,

Could I for shame reject such love,

A sacrifice from God above?

I do accept His sacrifice,

Will serve Him now for evermore.

For only such a Friend as he,

Could pardon, cleanse and make me free.

If you receive His pardoning grace,

You'll meet Him yonder face to face,

And have a home in Heaven above

Where all is joy and peace and love.

Then when around God's throne we meet

And lowly bow at Jesus' feet,

A song of praise we'll ever sing

To Christ, our Savior, Lord and King.

Seasons of Happiness

Like a welcome rain in summer,

That’s needed for plants to grow,

So our kindness to one another,

Will the love of our Savior show.

Like the sunshine after the rain,

Flowers bloom in many colors,

Spreading sunshine wherever you go

Brings seasons of happiness to others.

Like the warmth we use in winter,

Warming us through on a cold day,

Giving a helping hand to the needy,

Will warm and brighten their day.

So much like summer and winter,

Or seasons of autumn or spring,

By showing God’s love to others,

Will glory and praise to Him bring.

Trust in The Lord

The wind's not always at our back,

The sky is not always blue.

Sometimes we crave the things we lack,

And don't know what to do.

Sometimes life's an uphill ride,

With mountains we must climb.

At times the river's deep and wide,

And crossing takes some time.

No one said that life is easy,

There are no guarantees.

So Trust in the Lord continually,

On calm or stormy seas.

The challenges we face today,

Prepares us for tomorrow.

For faith takes our fears away,

And peace replaces sorrow.

The Rosebud

It is only a tiny rosebud

A flower of God's design;

But I cannot unfold the petals

With these clumsy hands of mine

The secret of unfolding flowers

Is not known to such as I

The flower God opens so gently

In my hands would fade and die

If I cannot unfold a rosebud,

This flower of God's design,

How can I have wisdom

To unfold this life of mine?

So I'll trust in Him for His leading

Each moment of every day,

And I'll look to Him for His guidance

Each step of the pilgrim way

For the pathway that lies before me

My heavenly Father knows

I'll trust Him to unfold the moments

Just as he unfolds the rose
