For A Time

Others are brought into our lives,

For A Time,

Some, for many years, others,

for moments sublime.

From each, there are lessons to be learned,

and to be shared,

For A Time, with them, God,

lovingly arranged, we be paired.

We need remember, this lifetime,

is temporary and fleeting,

Others leave and enter our lives,

with a good bye and a meeting.

Pathways converging and crossing,

provide life’s valued amounts,

Destinations are uncertain,

so it’s, indeed, the journey that counts.

We are blessed so by others,

gratefully brought to us,

For A Time,

As we have been brought to them,

to make their lives better,

…if but only, For A Time…

Waiting at Heaven's Door

Death beckoned her with outstretched hand

And whispered softly of an unknown land,

But she was not afraid to go

For though the path she did not know

She took death's hand without a fear

For God who safely brought her here

Had promised He would lead the way

Into eternity's bright day.

For none of us need go alone

Into the valley that is unknown,

But, guided by our Father's hand

We journey to the promised land.

She was your special loving Mother

You shared your lives with one another,

And you'll find comfort for your grief

In knowing her death brought sweet relief.

For, now she is free from all suffering and pain

And your great loss became her gain...

You know that her love is with you still

For she loved you in life and always will.

Love like hers can never end

Because it is the perfect blend

Of joy and sorrows, smiles and tears,

That just grew stronger with the years.

Love like hers can never die

For she's taken it with her to the sky...

So think of Mum as living above

No farther away than your undying love,

For now she is happy and free once more

And she's waiting for you at Heaven's door.

So Go and Run Free

So go and run free with the angels

Dance around the golden clouds

For the lord has chosen you to be with him

And we should feel nothing but proud

Although he has taken you from us

And our pain a lifetime will last

Your memory will never escape us

But make us glad for the time we did have

Your face will always be hidden

Deep inside our hearts

Each precious moment you gave us

Shall never, ever depart

So go and run free with the angels

As they sing so tenderly

And please be sure to tell them

To take good care of you for me

Miss Me but Let Me Go

When I come to the end of the road

And the sun has set for me

I want no rites in a gloom-filled room.

Why cry for a soul set free?

Miss me a little – but not too long

And not with your head bowed low.

Remember the love that we once shared,

Miss me – but let me go.

For this is a journey that we all must take

And each must go alone.

It's all a part of the Master's plan,

A step on the road to home.

When you are lonely and sick of heart

Go to the friends we know

And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds.

Miss Me – But Let me Go!

She is Gone

You can shed tears that she is gone

or you can smile because she has lived.

You can close your eyes and pray that she’ll come back

or you can open your eyes and see all she’s left.

Your heart can be empty because you can’t see her

or you can be full of the love you shared.

You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday

or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.

You can remember her and only that she’s gone

or you can cherish her memory and let it live on.

You can cry and close your mind,

be empty and turn your back

or you can do what she’d want:

smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

Life: A Stepping Stone

Life is just a stepping-stone

A pause before we make it home

A simple place to rest and be,

Until we reach eternity.

Everyone has a life journey,

A path to take with lots to see

God guides our steps along the way,

But we were never meant to stay.

Our final destination is a place

Filled with love, His majesty and grace.

Today we celebrate the life of a loved one

Who has gone before us, the race he has won.

His journey has now ended,

His spirit has ascended

Claiming the great reward

With Jesus, our Lord.

Don't Weep For Me

Don’t weep for me

For I’ve made it home

Through Heavens gates

There I may roam.

Wipe your tears

And dry your eyes

I’m in a better place

With Heaven as my prize.

Don’t weep for me

No tears and no sorrow

Live life for Jesus

He promises tomorrow.

Love Lives On

Those we love remain with us

for love itself lives on,

and cherished memories never fade

because a loved one’s gone.

Those we love can never be

more than a thought apart,

far as long as there is memory,

they’ll live on in the heart.

The Broken Chain

We little knew that day,

God was going to call your name.

In life we loved you dearly,

In death, we do the same.

It broke our hearts to lose you.

You did not go alone.

For part of us went with you,

The day God called you home.

You left us beautiful memories,

Your love is still our guide.

And although we cannot see you,

You are always at our side.

Our family chain is broken,

And nothing seems the same,

But as God calls us one by one,

The chain will link again.

When The Sun Comes

Up Tomorrow

When the sun comes up tomorrow

and I'm not next to you

Remember I am in a place

where life begins anew.

I wish you would not cry for me

the way you do today

While thinking of the many things

you never got to say.

When the sun comes up tomorrow

don't think we're far apart

For every time you think of me

am right there in your heart.

In Peace Go Home

Through veils of peace may you ascend

To promised planes above

Where comfort shall await you

In those summerlands of love

Although my grief is deep and raw

Although my pain is great

I know that you are still with me

I know that you will wait

For in God's time we'll meet again

Of this I am quite sure

I loved you so much on this earth

In absence even more

I Am Free!

Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free,

I’m following paths God made for me

I took his hand, I heard him call

Then turned, and bid farewell to all

I could not stay another day

To laugh, to love, to sing, to play

Tasks left undone must stay that way

I found my peace … at close of play

And if my parting left a void

Then fill it with remembered joy

A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss

Ah yes, these things I too will miss.

Be not burdened… deep with sorrow

I wish you sunshine of tomorrow

My life’s been full I’ve savored much

Good friends, good times

A loved one’s touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief

Don’t lengthen it now with grief

Lift up your heart and share with me,

The joy of love and life – for now I’m free.

God's Garden

God looked around his garden

And found an empty place,

He then looked down upon the earth

And saw your tired face.

He put his arms around you

And lifted you to rest.

God’s garden must be beautiful

He always takes the best.

He knew that you were suffering

He knew you were in pain.

He knew that you would not

Get well on earth again.

He saw the road was getting rough

And the hills were hard to climb.

So he closed your weary eyelids

And whispered, ‘Peace be Thine’.

It broke our hearts to lose you

But you didn’t go alone,

For part of us went with you

The day God called you home.

My Loved One So Cherished

So many unfinished words I wished to say

Some words I almost heard but you gently slipped away.

Even some gifts I had to give and things I’d love to hear

Your voice was like music to my ears

Your presence sweet to my heart.

Oh how I love you dear one of mine,

I’m happy you still live….

The hope of seeing you one day, I cherish in my heart

And then for eternity, new memories we can start.

We will romp in the meadows,

We will skip and sing like the birds

In the Land of our Redeemer

Where the River of Life flows.

Loved One Ultimately Healed

Keep close to your Risen Lord

That’s how you’ll feel close to me

Let your hearts be in one accord

And a blessing you will see

We’re never far too distant

We have oneness in the Spirit

When you’re still it takes an instant

Sometimes you can feel it

Some tears are good for cleansing

Aches and pains away

There is a time for mending

But also for brighter days

Let not grief capture your heart

I’m not so far away

Jesus gave me a brand new start

And He will give to you one day

A Land where there’s always bliss

Every blessing can afford

This you will not want to miss

Let your heart be in one accord.

I'm There Inside Your Heart

Right now we’re in a different place

And though we seem apart

I’m closer than I ever was

I’m there within your heart

I’m with you when you greet each day

And when the sun shines bright

I’m with you when the sun sets too

I’m with you every night

I’m with you when the times are good

To share a laugh or two

And if a tear should start to fall

I’ll still be there for you

And when that day arrives

That we will no longer be apart

I’ll smile and hold you close to me

Forever in my heart.
