House I'm Building
want my building to last
I don't want to be too fast.
want it to stand the test of time
there's a storm or the weather fine.
are not to live in just a day
many build ones that don't remain.
God is to be our strength and stay
better to build one that lasts many days.
just for today and tomorrow
someone's strength is not ours to borrow.
built their house, I must build mine
just for when the weather's fine.
there's a tempest, I will not be moved
situations arise or I feel blue.
will start my house with materials new
and thanks is what I will choose.
the day, my homage pay
my Creator and Lord
this I can afford.
to His Good Will
things call for prayer
will climb those stairs.
is a must
fret and fuss.
good instead of bad
letting my heart feel sad.
is it worth, this house of mine
it to last for all time?
will give it my best, yes don't be slack
God when the wind is on my back.
Him with healthy expectations
is not a delegation
others to meet my needs instead of God.
to the Master's measuring rod
have I sown for a blessed outcome?
my eyes on those things Above
with fortitude and in Love?
homage is what I must give to my Maker
then, my Peace will be greater.
will see rewards as I build
my God given Faith as a shield.
are more blessings for the wise man
resting in His perfect plans.
are for those who use them
will seek to wisely choose when
present themselves -
not leave them on a shelf.
gives me treasures in His Word
must act on what I've learned.
not leave to far away
is wise, that's what I say.
gives wisdom, He gives strength
those who are there for the length.
does not make you do anything
when you do, your heart will sing.
to the builders who build on a rock
will bring you satisfaction, lots.
stop to consider what house you would like
then it shall be filled with light.
for ashes, that's what they say
to obey Jesus, the Excellent Way!
